How to list your vacation rental on Google Vacation Rentals

To list a vacation rental on Google, you need a registered property management business, a direct booking website, and a connection through an approved connectivity provider, such as the channel manager in your property management software. Google then shows your listing in Search, Maps, and Google Travel, with free booking links that send guests to book with you.

What is Google Vacation Rentals?

Google Vacation Rentals puts whole home listings in front of travelers across Google's search products. Google says vacation rental listings "appear alongside organic search results," and that travelers can find them in Google Search, by exploring destinations in Google Maps, or by filtering for vacation rentals in Google Travel's lodging search (About vacation rentals on Google, checked October 19, 2026).

For a property manager, the draw is the booking link. Google's free booking links "redirect users to book directly on your website," and Google says "there are no fees for Google-generated referrals or bookings." A traveler who searches a town name can land on your own booking page instead of a channel listing.

Who can list a vacation rental on Google?

Google's starter guide names two routes onto the platform: being "a registered property management business with a direct booking website," or being "already listed on a booking site that's integrated with vacation rentals on Google" (Vacation rentals starter guide, checked October 19, 2026). The second route shows your property through that booking site, so the link sends guests there rather than to you.

Some properties are excluded. Google says "shared rooms, partial houses, and peer-to-peer rentals aren't currently eligible for integration," and it may ask for more information to verify your business before it approves the listing.

Do you need a connectivity partner to list on Google?

For most property managers, yes. Google says "professional property managers with at least 500 properties are eligible for direct integration," as long as they can assign a technical contact who can provide price and availability feeds. Below 500 properties, Google writes that "we strongly recommend connecting your professionally managed inventory via an approved connectivity provider," and that "you must have a suitable direct booking website" (VR property managers starter guide, checked October 19, 2026).

A connectivity provider is the software that sends your listings, rates, and availability to Google for you. Google describes these partners as companies that "provide software and tools to help property managers distribute the inventory they manage to various digital channels." In practice, that means your property management system or its channel manager.

How do you get your vacation rental listed on Google?

  1. Confirm your properties qualify. Whole homes managed by a registered business are eligible; shared rooms and partial houses are not.
  2. Launch a direct booking website. Google's free booking links point to it, so guests need to be able to book each listed property there with live rates.
  3. Choose software that connects to Google. Pick a property management system or channel manager that already sends listings to Google Vacation Rentals.
  4. Complete your listing content, covered in the next section.
  5. Turn on the Google connection for the properties you want listed.

What does Google need from your listing?

Google says that by sending "accurate rates, up-to-date availability, and high-quality content (such as photos, descriptions, amenities, and reviews)," partners can build information-rich listings that link to their own landing pages. Its listing feed covers each property's name, location, image and website addresses, and amenities (Google Hotel Center Help, checked October 19, 2026).

Rates and availability matter most. A listing that shows a price your website won't honor, or nights that are already booked, sends a traveler to a dead end. Connecting through software that keeps rates and availability current is how you avoid that.

How do you list on Google Vacation Rentals with Lodgix?

Google Vacation Rentals connects through our channel manager. In Lodgix, you request publish access, choose Google VR as the channel, switch its feed on, and enable the properties you want listed. Availability, rates, property data, and bookings then sync with the rest of your calendar.

Google bookings land in the same calendar as Airbnb, Vrbo, and your website, so the dates block everywhere else. Google doesn't charge for the listing, but our channel manager connection does carry a fee on the bookings it sends you. You can see the rate for Google and every other channel on our channel list.

If you don't have a direct booking website yet, see the Lodgix direct booking website, or read how the Lodgix channel manager works.

Questions we hear most

Can I list my vacation rental on Google myself?

Only at scale. Google says professional property managers with at least 500 properties can integrate directly, and it strongly recommends that managers with fewer than 500 connect through an approved connectivity provider.

Does Google charge to list a vacation rental?

No. Google says you can show vacation rentals on Google at no cost, and that there are no fees for Google-generated referrals or bookings through its free booking links. Your software provider may still charge for the connection, so check its pricing.

Do I need a direct booking website?

Yes, if you are a property manager listing your own inventory. Google lists a suitable direct booking website as a requirement, because its free booking links send travelers to book with you.
