Give every guest their own door code, automatically.

A smart lock integration for vacation rentals should create a fresh code for every stay, open the door at check-in, and lock the guest out after checkout without anyone touching a keypad. Lodgix connects with RemoteLock (including ResortLock), PointCentral, eRentalLock, and Kaba. Lodgix creates each code from the reservation and keeps it in sync when the booking changes.

See how a door code follows the reservation

  • A unique code created automatically for each reservation
  • Codes created anywhere from one day to four weeks before arrival, or by hand when you prefer
  • Access from the check-in hour to the check-out hour
  • An optional one or two hour buffer for early check-ins and late checkouts
  • Codes updated when dates or the property change
  • Codes removed from the lock when a booking is cancelled
  • One lock per property, or one per room with RemoteLock
  • A door code log report that shows every code and when it was valid

Connect the locks you already own

RemoteLock and ResortLock

Match each lock to a property or to an individual room, with a random four digit code or the last four digits of the guest's mobile phone.

PointCentral

Match each PointCentral property to a Lodgix property. PointCentral creates the guest code for every stay.

eRentalLock

Add each lock by its lock ID. eRentalLock creates the guest code for every stay.

Kaba

Match each door to a property. Kaba creates the guest code for every stay.

Choose when codes are created

Pick how far ahead of arrival Lodgix creates each code, from one day to four weeks before check-in. Bookings made inside that window get their code right away. If you would rather create codes yourself, switch automatic creation off and set your own start and end times on the reservation.

Send the code with your arrival message

Add the door code merge tag to any email or automated trigger, and Lodgix fills in the right code for each stay, for example in arrival instructions two days before check-in. Want the code to go out only after the guest signs your rental agreement? Limit the trigger to reservations where the agreement is signed.

Offer self check-in for one cottage or every unit

Lodgix works for hosts and property managers of every size. With one lock, you stop meeting guests with a key. With a building of rooms on RemoteLock, each guest gets a code for their room only.

Questions we hear most

When does the guest's door code start and stop working?

The code starts working at the check-in hour and stops at the check-out hour. You can add a one or two hour buffer on both sides to allow early check-ins and late checkouts without changing your official check-in and check-out times.

What happens to the code if a guest changes dates or cancels?

When the dates or the property change, Lodgix updates the code to match. When a booking is cancelled or deleted, Lodgix removes the code from the lock.

Can the door code be the last four digits of the guest's phone number?

Yes, for RemoteLock locks. Choose a random four digit code or the last four digits of the guest's mobile number, and Lodgix falls back to a random code when there is no usable mobile number. PointCentral, eRentalLock, and Kaba create the code on their side.

Are smart lock integrations included in every plan?

Yes. Smart lock integrations, work orders, and e-signed rental agreements are included in every plan at no additional cost.

Connect your locks and let the codes take care of themselves.

Link your lock account, match each lock to a property, and the next booking gets its own code.
